Being a “light” represents goodness, truth, and hope in a world that is searching for clarity. Light doesn’t define its surroundings, it illuminates them! I am a light and I have a purpose! From an early age I have been surrounded by Christian influences that have helped me set goals and prioritize what truly matters most in life. Loving the Lord and putting HIM first has shaped me into the Christian I am today. I am different from my peers, but in a good way. I desire to serve others in my community and am actively involved in my church. This has opened many doors and allowed me to invest time in others. Surrounding myself with others who are like-minded strengthens my faith and helps me remain spiritually strong. Investment is wise if you invest in what truly matters. Serving others is honorable when done with a gracious heart. Taking the opportunity to serve has opened my eyes to a world that needs compassion. Selfless acts of service touch hearts, but most importantly emulates the actions of Jesus. I have taken advantage of countless opportunities to serve others by investing in both my community and my school. As I enter another phase in my life and prepare for college, I have opportunities awaiting me at the university level. I have a lot to offer my community and am eager to share my talents as I further my studies.
My future plans include attending Murray State University to obtain a Bachelor of Science degree in Veterinary Technology. I have always loved animals and my desire to help them has guided me toward a possible career path in veterinary medicine. Since childhood, I have had a soft spot for animals and I am particularly drawn to the hands-on aspects of the field. Pursuing the agriculture pathway, with an emphasis on veterinary technology perfectly aligns with my passion. Upon graduation it is my desire to obtain a veterinary tech position near Barren County. I would like to use my expertise to give back to the local community. My connections within the close-knit community holds such a special place in my heart. I am familiar with the social fabric of my hometown and seek to raise a family in an environment where my values are respected and life moves at a slower pace. My purpose in life is not tied to a zip code, it is tied to a place that adds fullness to my journey where I can plant new roots and thrive. I know the effect my “light” has on others and this leads me to make every moment count. Wherever life takes me, I will ALWAYS let my ”light” shine for Jesus!
